The Noblesville Millers defeated the HSE Royals 6-3 on Monday morning at Donald J. Dunker Field in Noblesville. The Millers advance to tonight’s 7:00 p.m. Sectional Championship game.
The game was tied at three with the Millers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Reese Sharp singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Noblesville earned the victory despite allowing Hamilton Southeastern to score three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Hamilton Southeastern was led by Jacob Daftari and Brayton Harrison, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Tyler Owens got the win for the Noblesville Millers. He went four and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three and walking zero. Kade Gorman and Jackson Ramey entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Rutger Poiry took the loss for Hamilton Southeastern. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out one and walking zero. Sam Bachman started the game for Hamilton Southeastern. He allowed one hit and four runs over four innings, striking out eight.
Ethan Imel led Noblesville with two hits in three at-bats. Noblesville didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jacob Thieman had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
Hamilton Southeastern totaled eight hits in the game. Harrison, Anthony Eggers, and Cole Dewael each collected multiple hits for Hamilton Southeastern.
