Noblesville and Avon were finally able to complete their Hoosier Crossroads Conference game on Wednesday, which was suspended due to weather in the fourth inning on May 1st.
The result was a heartbreaker for the Millers, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat. The game was tied at five with Avon batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kendallyn Davison hit a solo home run.
Despite the loss, the Millers did collect thirteen hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Avon had twelve hits on the way to victory.
Avon opened up scoring in the second inning when Valerie Hilt singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
The Millers scored three runs in the third inning; Noblesville’s big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Chloe Tragesser and Ella White.
H Batton got the win for Avon, lasting seven innings, allowing thirteen hits and six runs while striking out seven.
Baily Ryan took the loss for Noblesville, going five innings, allowing eight runs on twelve hits, and striking out one.
White, Tragesser, Maddie Taylor, Emily Minett, and Abigail Harvey all managed multiple hits for the Millers. White went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Noblesville in hits.
