The Noblesville Millers took their first steps of the 2020 IHSAA State Tournament on Tuesday night at Hallmark Orthodontics Soccer Complex, defeating the Anderson Indians 6 – 0.
Abby Baker scored the game’s first goal off an assist from Paige Landers. Jacey Hoopingarner and Meagan Wernke notched their first career goals; Wernke’s goal was assisted by Paige Smucker. The first half scoring was capped off by Riley Maloy’s first goal of the match that was assisted by her sister, Makenna Maloy.
Riley Maloy scored again in the 67th minute, this time heading in a Kylie Roberts cross into the box. The Millers’ scoring was capped off by Paige Stooksberry, who scored her first career goal by heading in a Paige Smucker cross.
The Millers (11-0-1) will host the Pendleton Heights Arabians on Tuesday night in the Sectional Semi-Final. The game begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by Fishers vs. Hamilton Southeastern.
