Saturday’s game against Zionsville in the Noblesville Invitational was a heartbreaker for the Noblesville Millers, as they lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat. The game was tied at three with the Millers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kolby Kazmierski doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Zionsville got on the board in the first inning when Evan Jensen hit a solo homer.
Zionsville evened things up at five in the top of the sixth inning when David Novak singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Aidan Hatcher led things off on the hill for Zionsville. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out seven.
Michael Stremlaw toed the rubber for Noblesville. The righthander surrendered three runs on four hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Drew Niswonger and Nick Golden entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Kazmierski went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Millers in hits.
