The Noblesville Millers took the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory over Kokomo on Monday. The game was tied at one with the Millers batting in the top of the fifth when Nolan Decker doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Noblesville fired up the offense in the first inning. Tyler Utterback singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The Millers took control in the fifth inning, Decker doubled home two runs and would later score on a Tristen Moore sacrifice fly to left field to give the Millers their final 4-1 lead.
Max Prohm led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the Millers. The righthander lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five and walking one.
Guerre toed the rubber for Kokomo. The bulldog went five innings, allowing four runs on four hits. Dixon threw two innings out of the bullpen.
Noblesville collected five hits; Utterback and Decker both collected two hits to lead the Millers. Noblesville didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jacob Edwards had the most chances in the field with six.
