The Noblesville Millers weathered a push by Hamilton Southeastern in the fourth inning where Noblesville coughed up three runs, but the Millers still won 10-5 on Saturday. Hamilton Southeastern scored its runs on a double by #5.
The Millers opened up scoring in the second inning when Aidan Shoemaker tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
Noblesville took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Connor Bloss grounded out, scoring one run and Luke Wilson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Noblesville notched five runs in the second inning. Eli Ketterer, Shoemaker, and Wilson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Shoemaker earned the win for Noblesville. He surrendered five runs on three hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Kadin Hamilton threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hamilton recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for the Millers.
Howard took the loss for Hamilton Southeastern. He allowed four hits and five runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
The Millers tallied 11 hits on the day. Wilson and Shoemaker all managed multiple hits for Noblesville. Wilson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Noblesville in hits. Noblesville was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Bloss had the most chances in the field with six.
Hilfiker led Hamilton Southeastern with two hits in four at-bats. Hamilton Southeastern didn’t commit a single error in the field. St Clair had the most chances in the field with five.
