The Noblesville Millers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-0 loss to Brownsburg on Thursday. Brownsburg scored on a fielder’s choice by Travis Bevington, a double by Ty Matthews, and a double by Ethan Harless in the first inning.
The Millers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Brownsburg, giving up six runs.
Brownsburg got things moving in the first inning. Bevington hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
One bright spot for the Millers was a single by Cole Barnes in the third inning.
Rylan Compton was credited with the victory for Brownsburg. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13.
CJ Stuckey took the loss for Noblesville. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on two hits and walking one.
Clay Holzworth started the game for Noblesville. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out eight
Barnes and Lucas Williams all had one hit to lead the Millers.
Harless led Brownsburg with three hits in three at-bats.
