The Millers took on the #10 ranked Carmel Greyhounds Thursday night and battled to a 1-1 draw. From the opening whistle, the Millers had better possession and scoring opportunities than the Greyhounds. After 25-30 minutes, the Millers lost some energy and starting giving Carmel more time and space to operate. The Greyhounds took advantage and slipped a ball past goalkeeper Adam Carter with about 10 minutes remaining in the half.
After half time, the Millers came out re-energized, determined, and more focused. After several opportunities by Drew Barnes, Sam Johnson, and Tommy Gregory, the Millers were able to draw a free kick from 30 yards out. For the second game in a row, Gabe Imes stepped up and hit a wonderful free kick curler to the back post past the Greyhound Keeper to tie the game at 1. In the last 10 minutes, both teams had A+ chances but were unable to score and break the tie.
The Millers will next play on Tuesday as they travel across Indy to battle the Avon Orioles.
