The Millers and the Fighting Irish of Cathedral faced off Thursday night in a tough battle. They played to a 0-0 draw at half time, with both teams having opportunities but neither getting on the scoreboard. Curtis Martin returned from a 2 week layoff due to injury and played some quality minutes in the back. Josh Lovett anchored the D at both center and wing back.
In the second half, the Millers were able to get their right back Brady Anderson up the flank on multiple occasions. On one such run, Brady was able to send a cross into Palmer Ault, who calmly chested the ball ball and sent a rocket low to the far post. After taking the lead, the Millers had to withstand strong pushes by Cathedral. The Fighting Irish hit both the right and left post, but junior Adam Carter was able to keep the clean sheet. The Millers now have a 5-5-1 record and face #17 ranked Pike on Saturday at home.
