The JV Gold team was at Westfield last night for a match between the Millers and the Shamrocks.
The first half was dominated by the Shamrocks with a ton of chances that were getting closer and closer to the back of the net. Goalie Dugan Webster was asked to do quite a lot and made many saves in the first half. However, the Shamrocks broke the deadlock at about the 18′ mark where they found the goal quite easily. The Millers could not get out of their side for the final 15′ of time in the half.
The second half was quite a different story for your Millers. They came out strong and had multiple chances to tie the game up. The pressure was mounting and the Millers scored about 15 minutes into the half off of a beautiful cross from defender Calvin Lighty. Will Kaufman received the ball and coolly put it into the back of the net. After another ten minutes of continued pressure from the Millers, Westfield turned the momentum and tested the Noblesville defense for the last bit of the game. However, the Millers kept the net empty and ended up with a tie.
This match leaves the JV Gold team at 5-2-2 on the season. The Millers are back in action three times this next week; Monday at Carmel, Wednesday versus Zionsville (pink out game), and Thursday at Avon. Come out and support your Millers!
