The Millers played at Franklin Central this evening on the far East side of Indianapolis! It was a nice cool evening for some soccer.
Your JV Gold time started off quickly with two goals from Dario Torres in the 7th and 10th minute. The first was assisted by Noah Adams on a beautifully taken corner kick and the second was a long through ball from defender Calvin Lighty. The Millers then fell into a lull and didn’t create many chances in the middle part of the half. With about 5 minutes left in the half, Will Kaufman took a shot that the Franklin Central goalkeeper fumbled and let into the goal.
The second half was very similar to the first half. Again, the Millers found two quick goals from Dario Torres with assists from Drew Decker and Noah Adams. The Miller defense held solid, with goalkeeper Dugan Webster keeping the ball out of the net for the clean sheet on the night. Defenders Ashton Craig, Josh Clawson, and Alex Pursch helped Webster out in goal. Near the end of the match, Aidan Allan found the back of an empty net after a shot from Will Kaufman bounced off the post and into his path.
The Millers have two games remaining. Next week, they play North Central at home for a second time and finish off the season at Hamilton Southeastern. Come out and support your Millers as they try to get to 11 wins on the season!
