The Millers started the 2018-2019 season with a win over the Greenfield Central Cougars on Tuesday evening. The Millers started brightly, controlling the possession and flow of the game. The Millers struck midway through the first half when Garrett Poynter showed great composure and controlled Jack Anderson’s cross and placed it in the back of the net. Poynter was calm again and faked a shot and placed it in the back of the net from a Brendon Fisher layoff.
The Millers played with confidence in the second half with Kyle Marshall bursting into the box and firing inches above the goal, after great build-up play from the team. The Millers were fearless at times with Graham Vetter completing a bycicle kick cross and Sam Greenaway firing narrowly over from a bycicle kick himself.
Gabe Ingle and Nick Johnson shared time and the clean sheet, both seeing time on the field in their half out of goal.
