The JV Black Millers had an emphatic comeback win on Tuesday night versus the Fishers Tigers. The Millers struggles to communicate and create chances in the first half and found themselves down at the break after an errant backpass left keeper Nick Johnson facing to two Fishers attackers who disposed him and slotted the ball in the net.
The Millers responded in the second half immediately looking dangerous and going forward and attacking. The breakthrough finally came when Brendon Fisher sent a cross across the face of goal and Kyle Goad headed it in off the post, to get the Millers back in the game. From there it got better as Garrett Poynter found Jake Sexton who sent a looping volley over the outstretched Tiger keeper who could do nothing to stop the ambitious effort. Poynter then got the third after great linkup play between himself and Jack Anderson led to him getting some space and finishing the game off.
The Tigers grabbed a late consolation goal that made the last five minutes tense but the Millers held on. Keepers Nick Johnson and Gabe Ingle both played well to keep the Tigers at bay and preserve the JV Black Millers unbeaten record at 4-0-1 and they are now on a 3-game win streak. The the Millers have a positive goal difference of 7 with 10 goals scored and only 3 conceded. The Millers get back into action on Saturday against away at Northwestern High School.
