Jack Shade was dialed in at the plate on Monday, tallying four hits and leading the Noblesville Millers to a 13 – 3 win over Lafayette Central Catholic. Shade doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fifth.
Lafayette Central Catholic scored three runs in the third inning, but the Millers still managed to pull out the victory. Lafayette Central Catholic scored its runs on a home run by Moran.
Noblesville opened up scoring in the first inning, when Shade doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
The Millers put up six runs in the second inning. The rally was led by a single by Shade, a home run by Jordan Sharp, an error on a ball put in play by Elijah Bowers, and a double by Josh Peek.
Kadin Hamilton was the winning pitcher for Noblesville. The lefty surrendered three runs on one hit over three innings, striking out three. Tommy Talarico and Tyler Utterback entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Minnich took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic. The hurler lasted one and one-third innings, allowing seven hits and ten runs while striking out one.
The Millers tallied 11 hits; Shade, Peek, Sharp, and Bowers each had multiple hits. Shade went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Noblesville in hits.
