Noblesville Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jess Preston Named to the Indiana Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame

Noblesville swimming and diving head coach Jess Preston has been selected for the Indiana High School Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame as part of its Class of 2027, the organization announced Thursday. Preston is one of four coaches in the class, which also includes 22 swimmers and divers, and three special award recipients. The class will be formally inducted on April 18, 2027, in Indianapolis. Preston coached at Penn from 2008 to 2024 before taking over the Noblesville program in 2024. Over that career, he has coached swimmers to eleven individual state titles, three state records, four relay state titles and three state runner-up team finishes. One of his former Penn swimmers, Bethany Galat, is also part of the Class of 2027 and won five individual state titles and setting two state records from 2011 to 2014 before earning a spot on Team USA and earning a silver medal in the 200m breaststroke at the 2017 World Championships. The Class of 2027 also includes Olympic gold medalists Lilly King (Evansville F.J. Reitz) and Blake Pieroni (Chesterton) and Olympic silver medalist Sarah Bacon (Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter). The Indiana High School Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame recognizes athletes, coaches and contributors who have made a lasting impact on the sport in Indiana.
