The Noblesville Millers won the girls golf sectional championship on Monday, shooting a team score of 314 at Stony Creek Golf Course to edge Hamilton Southeastern by three strokes. Lapel placed third at 323, followed by Fishers (374), Hamilton Heights (399), Tipton (403), Anderson (424), Pendleton Heights (436), Frankton (437) and Alexandria Monroe (438). Every Miller in the lineup matched or improved on her front-nine score coming in. Junior Lauren Turpin led the way, shooting 40 on the front nine and playing the back nine in 35, even par for the incoming side to seal the sectional championship. She birdied the par-3 11th and the par-4 12th and added five pars over the final nine to post a 75; Turpin finished second in the individual standings behind Hamilton Heights senior Taylor Morrison's 74. Sophomore Anne Etter shot 78 to tie for fifth in the field. Sophomore Myra Sealey followed at 79 after a 37 on the back, and junior Keelin Werkley carded 82. Sophomore Olivia Herche finished at 83. The sectional championship is the program's 21st sectional title all-time, the most in Hamilton County for girls golf. Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern, and Lapel advance to Saturday's Lapel Regional at Edgewood Golf Course in Anderson.
