Area Nominees:

Logan Callaghan – Baseball – Hamilton Southeastern High School

Baseball would like to nominate Logan Callaghan. He’s a great teammate, works his butt off, and always goes the extra mile in preparation and help! He’s a leader who’s always happy and working to grow.

Garrett Smith – Boy’s Lacrosse – Hamilton Southeastern High School

Junior, attackmen Garrett Smith. Garrett has been a varsity player since his freshman year. He is a tremendous hard working in the weight room, at practice, and outside of practice. Garrett is often the “music of practice”. Whether he is in a drill or waiting his turn, he is consistently talking through the play and encouraging his teammates. He is a student of the game and has watched more film than any other player on the team (Hudl records viewing time). Our coaching staff has been so impressed with Garrett that last night after he was awarded the game ball for 2 goals and 4 assists against Center Grove, we also awarded him by naming him a captain. His effort, attention to detail, and ability to lead teammates by his actions and his words has been impressive and I believe he is well deserving of this achievement.

Jackson Micheels – Baseball – Carmel High School

Jackson had a .400 batting average in the month of March with 1 extra base hit. He also excelled in the field with 12 put outs in 12 total chances.

Sydney Schema – Girl’s Lacrosse – Hamilton Southeastern High School

Sydney leads the team’s defense with seven forced turnovers and 17 ground balls. Her physical play and instincts have helped the Royals outscore opponents 74-44. She has also tallied one goal and one draw control.

Makenzie Loftin – Track and Field – Hamilton Southeastern High School

In her first high school outdoor meet, Makenzie placed 2nd in the 100 and 300 hurdles and also ran on the 4×100 and 4×400 relays on a very cold night at Westfield. The next week in our first home outdoor meet in 2 years, she placed 1st in both the 100 and 300 hurdles against North Central and Warren Central. In the final week of March she once again placed in both hurdle races against Carmel, 3rd in the 100 hurdles and 2nd in the 300 hurdles as well as running on the 4×100 relay. In total she scored 20 points for the team in March which ranked her second on the team just behind senior Halle Hill.
