The Noblesville Millers gymnastics team finished in 2nd place with a 96.475 at the Northwestern Invitational at Northwestern High School on Saturday.
This is the Millers’ highest team score so far of the season.
Leading the way for the team once again was senior Esma Taylor with an all-around score of 33.150, which is also her highest all-around score in two years. Senior Ronnie VanBuskirk was not far behind Taylor with an all-around score of 31.475.
The Millers had a fantastic vault day with 3 members of the team placing in the top 6. Freshman Olivia Mangin placed 6th with her score of 8.5, one of her highest scores on vault for the season. Senior Ronnie VanBuskirk placed 5th with a score of 8.575, also being one of her highest vault scores of the season. Esma Taylor led the way for Noblesville on vault with her 3rd place finish of 8.75. The Millers achieved a total team score of 25.825 for the vault competition.
On bars, senior Ronnie VanBuskirk took the lead for the Millers with her 4th place score of 7.775. Senior Esma Taylor placed 5th with her score of 7.675.
Senior Ellie VanBuskirk had a rock solid beam routine with a 3rd place finish and her 3rd “Beam Stick” of the season. Esma Taylor tied VanBuskirk for 3rd with their score of 8.25.
Esma Taylor was the lone gymnast that placed for the Millers in the floor routine with her 4th place finish of 8.475. Both Lauren Murray and Taylor completed new skills in their routines.
Noblesville will travel on Saturday to Bloomington High School South for the 12:30 p.m. Bloomington South Invitational.
